4r70w rebuild

has any body had a 4r70w rebuilt lately? are there any reasonably priced valvebody upgrades or is a tuner the way to go. what can i expect to pay for a stock type rebuild.

I would suggest Troyer for advice on this. There is definitely stuff available.

For a stock rebuild you'd be $$ ahead to get a low mileage used unit. I don't know what part of Kentucky you are in I am near cincinnati ohio. Besslers in Wilder usually has some good low mileage transmissions.

The best buy may be a reman from your Ford dealer. I checked into it a year or so back, and they were around $ 1,700, with a three year and 36,000 mile warranty.

Get someone who works at a dealer to get you their Wholesale price on a carryout from a ford dealer. I work for BMW and my wholesale price at the dealer with exchange was 1300.00 and 4 hours to install. 3-36 warranty also.
