tow/ haul switch flashes

I have a 2004 F-250 with a 6.0, never had a problem until now. I do have 109000.0 at this time, my problem is the transmission temp gauge will drop to the C level, then the check gauges and the tow / haul idiot lights start flashing, then I will lose the tow/haul option. this happens intermeditlly and only just after I start the truck, doesnt matter if its cold or hot. Then other times every thing works fine. Please help getting ready for vacation need to be able to pull my trailer.

get the codes checked. if the light is flashing there is a trouble code and the tranny is in "limp" mode. when the light started flashing on my 97 F-350 PSD, it cost me $2,000 for a rebuilt E4OD tranny

You might be paying for a tranny repair instead of a vacation......
