Overdrive Light will not come on HELP.

I have a 97 Lariat with a 4.6. The "Overdrive" light will not come on. I have replaced the button/light, used a multimeter to test wires and everything seems to be ok. No code shows up doing a scan with the OBD II. Anyone fixed this problem yet? Please fill me in.

You mean the Overdrive off light? It only comes on if you lock out overdrive. When you press the button does it lock out overdrive?

Sorry, the light is off and when I push the button to lock out the overdrive, the light does not come on. I have replaced the light button and still will not lock out.

Ok Got the Overdrive off button/light thing figured out. The three small round plugs, that the button/light plugs into, wire-harness that goes through the inside of the shift column, were frayed at the bottom of the shifter where the wiring harness exits through a small hole. The multimeter produced continuity because the wires touch in the Park position. However, when shifted into the Drive position the wires separated and continuity was lost. You must remove the shift column in order to replace/repair these wires. Not sure if Ford sells just the wiring harness by itself but I doubt it. So there you go.
