Lightning 4R100 Trans w/ V10????

First time post for me. I've searched this site haven't found an answer. Any help is appreciated.

I'm building a '56 Ford F100 custom. I've found and bought a 2000 V10 with virtually no miles and included with this engine was the PCM. I'm working the the Detail Zone for an aftermarket harness and PCM reprogramming. I'm working on finding a 4R100 transmission. I've found one locally out of a 2003 Lightning. The lightning has a 6 stud torque converter. Will this transmission work with the V10? What is the different between the SuperDuty 4R100 and Lightning? Thanks a lot.

should be the same tranny, the only differance that I know of is how the shifts were tuned, the L tranny was a little snapier. BTW I have both a Excursion V10 and a Lightning.

Yup, as long as you don't get a 7.3L 4R100, it'll bolt on. The programming in the computers are different between the F-150/Lightning and the Superdutys, but unless there is somethin' special about the Lightning 4R100, I don't know of any hold ups for you.
