97 F150 Overdrive button flashing

Hey all, I have a question about my overdrive on my 97 F150 v6 4x4Intermitently the overdrive button flashes on and off, Could this be caused by low transmission fluid levels? The transmission seems to be running fine without any unusual noises and it seems to be upshifting and downshifting as it always has. Any suggestions

A OD light flashing is a code, it says the computer has seen somethig outside the typical range and put it in limp home mode. It take line pressures to max and does things that are harmful long term so get it fixed. Take it somewhere (dealership or good transmission shop) and have codes pulled. Post the code here and go from there.
