rebuilt e40d will not pull

Help. i have a 97 f 250 that i have just installed a rebuilt e40d. i have flushed the cooling lines before install. i have 2 questions.
1) On the tail stock i have 2 connections 1 wire and a round plug that looks like a spot for a speeddometer cable. What are these connections?
2) when I put the truck in gear it will not pull at all, not in forward or reverse. Why?
any suggestions would be great and appriciated.

1) Wrong tranny. You have now have one for a mechanical speedometer.

2) Possibilities include: Low fluid, defective rebuild, wrong tranny, etc.... For whatever reason, either the tranny has no internal pump pressure or the internal linkage for the manual valve is disconnected.

Thanks projectssho89 i am check your suggestions now.

and mtchkins i did not have any problems with the tc nuts.
I used trans bolts to get the general allignment and slow pulled the tranny forward until i could line up the tc bolt and then pulled the tranny to the block by few turn on oneside and a few turn on the other side until the gap was closed. Went real sweet and all lined up just right.
