Shifter Buzz in Drive

Hi,

I have a 2006 FX4 SCab with the floor shifter. I just started noticing that while stopped in Drive there is a very faint yet maddening buzzing coming from somewhere either under under or in the center console. It's not necessary steady and constant - but will always happen (its not loud enough to hear when there's any background noise).

With the E brake on, I put it in drive, opened the hood and heard nothing from the engine compartment - but did hear it the second I put my head in the cabin.

I'm able to stop it by pulling back on the shifter from its normal "resting position" in Drive to the rear most "limit" of the drive position where if I went any further I would have to push the button to go to 2 gear. Seems to me like a vibration, but I can't find it, and I can't feel it.

Any clues? Or should I just go to the deal and ask them to deal with it? Thanks!

Mike
