Exclamation Water in Transmission...

a couple weeks ago i flooded my truck in a deep hole. i drained all the fluids several times. the tranny fluid is still milky colored after 5 0r 6 changes. is there any way i can completely drain all the fluid out at once? each time i drain it from the tranny and transfer case only 5-7 qts drain out and i know it holds about 16 qts. How do i get all the fluid out of the torque converter and any other areas there might be fluid? or do i just keep changing it until it becomes clean? also are there tranny pans available with a drain plug?

Pull the rubber plug at the bottom of the bell housing. Then turn the crankshaft with a breaker bar until you see the small bolt plug in the TC. Unscrew that and the TC will drain, albeit slowly.

Yup, there is a good 12-13 quarts in the T/C. Fortunatly your year has a drain. If you had an '01-'02+ you'd be screwed and need a flush.

In this situation, you may want to go get a flush done.
