converting console shifted f150 to a floor shift??
Hi, everybody. New guy here. I had a question about the older style f150s. Like the older boxy ones. I was wondering how much trouble and $$$ it would take to install a floor shifter like a hurst in an automatic f150 that has a console shifter?

Column would be easy to clean up by swappin in a cover from a manual truck. Purdy easy to lose the shifter display too.
You don't say what year or tranny you have, but it could be a possible project to adapt the stock manual lever position sensor on the tranny and cable to the '04+ floor shifter I would think.
Makin' it not look like poo would be tricky.

Deleting a '92-up shifter is easy. To get rid of an older one requires swapping the column, which is still pretty easy.
There are lots of floor shifters that would be easy to swap in; both cable & pushrod types. Bending a pushrod to fit isn't that difficult if you understand geometry.
Swapping in a console shifter is a popular topic on CVN, and there are several threads there with lots of pics showing how to do it, so do some searching over there.
