2 part question
im sure its covered in here some where but i havent found anything but debate on the issue
i have an 03 supercrew 4x4 with a 5.4 and 4r70 w tranny in it the transmissinon is on its way out and im going to have to get it replaced what i am wanting to know is what all is needed to swap in a 4r100 in place of the 4r70 wso i can decide if its really woth the effort over a built 4r70w
and question number two why is it that when i switch into 4 wheel drive some times it lets go of the front drive at first as i it lurches in 4by then pops back in to 2by and spins it seems to only do this in the snow so far is it a tempeture thing
and feedback is apreciated

To be taken as feedback only.
I would not bother with the hassle of trans swap. Have a good shop build yours or buy one from a known source.
I don't think you can overcome the cost of a swap when all is considered.
As for the 4X4 fault, there are a lot of things that could be the cause.
While the 70w is being rebuilt, they should be sure all the mechanical/electrical functions on the trans are perfect. Beyond that, there are a lot of electrics involved as well as your front drive line.
Good luck with it.
