Installing 2.5 lift kit & 35" tires, do i need to upgrade the gears???

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is on a 05 f150 4x4. Talked to the local big brand and saw i truck with 35 being installed on his truck, with a front level lit. Im just wondering if i need to change the gears and upgrade them. My buddy blew his tranny twice when he had 35 on his 02 f150 2x4. he also had a 6" lift, not sure if those mods contibuted to the blown trannys. I just want to know if i need to worry about it.

Please help me out on this one guys.

Thanks Chad
