Is it Auto or manual? If it's manual, it's not too difficult to do, if it's like transmissions I've done before, it's basically drain oil, remove drive shaft, pull seal, which is right at the back where the driveshaft slips in, carefully drive new seal in. Not sure of the bushing stuff, it'd be worth having a look at a service book like a Hayes or whatever just to check the procedure. If it's an auto, it may be more complicated, if nothing else than there are procedures you need to follow regarding drain and fill.
You'll need some sort of puller, you might be able to use a gear puller if you can set the arms to go outwards to hook round the seal, and you'll need a piece of steel or thick aluminum (maybe even wood) to go across the back of the housing for the centre pin of the puller to push on.
Last time I did w rear gearbox seal was a '65 Morris Oxford in around 1978, I cut the old seal with a cold chisel but that's not what I'd say was recommended practice. I also replaced the rearmost bearing while I was there, which in that case was right behind the seal.
