No Mess Tranny Oil Change

I changed the trans fluid and filter on my '96 F150 today and used a Stearns "oil changer" pump to suck the old fluid out of the pan befrore dropping it. I bought the pump (About $15 if I remember correctly) at a boat shop -- I guess boat people use them to change the engine oil in their boats where they can't get to the drain plug. I bought 10' of hard plastic 1/4" ID tubing at Ace Hardware to stick down the fill tube into the pan in order to get to the fluid. After hooking up the tubing to the pump and sticking the output tubing from the pump into a container, I just turned the switch on and all the fluid moved from the pan to my container. The tube goes to the front of the trans, so don't jack up the front of the truck before sucking the fluid out or you will miss some. Yes, I had to let the front down so it would all come out.

No Mess!!

Nice idea for those who don't want to drill the and install a drain plug in the pan.
