Installing Rebuilt Trany and Have a Question
Hello Everyone,
I'm in the process of installing a rebuilt 4R70W transmission. The tranny came with some instruction sheets. One of which was how to change out the shift lever and switch. Seemed a little more involved than I though it should of.
Anyway, included in the instructions was instructions on adjusting the TV cable. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 4r70w in the '97 and latter F150 doesn't have a TV cable, it's electronic.
So did someone in shipping just toss the wrong sheet in the box or am I missing something?

It looks like I could use those adjustment procedures. I've got the job done, but it doesn't seem to want to shift into 2nd gear.
I had marked the cable when I removed it, but I didn't mark switch that the cable hooks too, before switching it to the new transmission.
It will shift out of 1st and then right back into 1st. Like it trys to find 2nd and when it can't it drops right back to the one it can find.
I hope that this is something that can be caused by a misadjusted Shift Cable.
