An open diff sends power to one rear wheel with the least resistance, and whichever has the greatest traction/load just sits. AKA "one wheel peel", "peg leg", and "one wheel wonder".
"Limited slip" (a Ford term), and "positraction" (chevy term), uses a clutch pack to lock the two axles together when one wheel is just sitting stuck and the other spinnin goin no where, but acts like an open diff during normal driving.
A locker physically locks the two axles together mechanically.
