In that year, Automatics were about 70% of the total build.
In 1999, the (Auto only) 5.4L most likely made that percent go up.
I guess would be 85% maybe?
That leaves 15% and probably 75% of those were a low end V6.
So total, there were probably 4% 4.6L Manual.
If they built 600,000 F150s in 1999 then maybe 24,000 were like yours.
(all guesses but, I didn't read about a prize for being accurate )

I had a '98 F-250 light duty (looks just like the F-150) regular cab, long bed (8 foot), Lariat, with the 4.6 and a 5 speed overdrive.
99% of the driving I do is highway miles, and as I didn't have to do all that much shifting, or sitting in traffic......that stick shift sure was nice.
I think trucks should be stick shifts.

I have a 2001
I just bought a 2001 F150 4.6L 5 speed manual trans. extended cab 4 door. This truck has the bear bones but that is fine with me. No electrical repairs on doors, windows, or mirrors. All it has is A/C, AM/FM/CD, and cruise. The things that I like to have. This is my first Ford and for some reason excited to have it.

I guess the assembly line has to change the layout when they start putting the sticks in, and they wait until they have multiple orders, before they start.
At least that's the B.S. line the dealer gave me......while I waited.
