Two ta' four
I looked through using the search feature and really couldn't find anything relative.
I have a 2000 XLT 4.6 ext. cab. 2WD.
I was wondering the possiblity and feasability of converting it to 4wd.
I'm wondering what would be needed, and approximate cost with Junkyard parts.
I know my way around cars, I'm actually in the middle of a 500ci engine/tranny swap into my Camaro.. Problem is I don't know jack about 4wd. . Even though I used to own a jeep.
Thanks guys.
Chevy + Ford > Chrysler.
Peace.

The frames are different. So unless you plan on doing some welding it won't work. One more thing is if you still plan on and want to go to a solid axle the easiest by far is the leaf spring way. One more thing you should look at is the ride hight. If you try to maintain the stock ride hight you will need to make careful measurements to be sure the solid axle doesn't hit anything on full compression.
