Upgrade Tranny options for 2000 F150. ??

I have a 2000 4x4 with a 4.6 and was wondering what tranny options there are, I was hoping going to a five speed automatic, or at lest a really good 4 speed that is better then stock. and would I have to consider upgrading the rear end as well?

This really depend on what your goals are, and what you mean by "better." Better for stump-pulling, better for drag racing, better for mud-bogging?? Give some more detail, and I'm sure some folks (probably not me, though) can answer.

I am looking for at least a 5 speed if that is possible, something design for driving not really towing or mud bogging, good fuel economy, and can handle hard accelerations. I also have a 4x4.

you should be fine with yur stock 4r70w and a god shift kit.it really wouldn't be worth the hassle of changing to another tranny if you're not doing something extreme with the truck.my factory tech valve body seperator plate kit is on its way from florida right now so i'll post how it does after the install.for $85 +s&h if it does ANYTHING its worth it.and from what i hear its the best, cheapest and easiest shift kit to install
