Just wondering what you're calling a 'vacuum pod?' If you're talking about the center-axle disconnect on the front axle, there's a whole lot more to it than just lubing the actuator. Check the vacuum hoses for leaks (specifically on the engage side) and check the solenoids on the pass side firewall to make sure they're not sticking. Typically the disengage side sticks, so when the engage side comes on, it has vacuum on both lines. You should only have vacuum on one line at a time, never both.
