My husband and I just bought a 1998 F150.
The 4 wheel drive does not engage.
My husband and I got under the truck.
There is no drive shaft from the main into the drivers side wheel.
How do we fix it ourselves and yes I am a woman who will work on a truck.

 

Can you ask the seller why it is missing? Do you have the 6 bolts that hold the half shaft to the axle flange?

Can anybody help? I have a 2003 ford f150 5.4 l xlt, the 3 door. I had my first snow today and went to go put it in 4x4 l/h and it never kicked in, never hered the clicks or the light on the panel never lit up. Can anybody please help soon ! I did cut my muffler off and just puta sraight pipe where my muffler was only about 4-6 ft of it, dont think that would do to much but please llet me lknow!!
