Question Transmission Fluid

Hello

I am going to do a filter change on a 98 EXPY 5.4 4WD. Can I use Lucas Transmission Fix with the Mercon Fluid.

Thanks

Yeah, Lucas is good stuff, but I wouldn't use it if you have no issues or leaks.

Go ahead then you may want to drain the converter as well. Just did mine [e 40od] and it took 15 qts. manual said 16.2 to 17 qts. I bet that taks care of any slipping. Good luck.

Just use the straight fluid Mercon for trans code E on the door jam sticker, and Mercon V for trans code U.

Look for a rubber plug on the bottom of the bell housing and remove it. The rotate the engine till you see a small drain plug on the converter.
