5r110 on an F150

does anyone know if its possible to put the new 5-speed auto from the f-250/350 on an F150... or possibly the 6 speed?

No clue, but it sure would be nice. that alone would probably make the truck capable of hanging with the Titans and such.

It would be REALLY hard.

Getting it to bolt in isn't that difficult. The bolt patterns match, so it will bolt to the engine. A converter from a 5R100/5.4L should work, and you'll probably need to do some fabrication to get the rear mount to work, and the driveshaft is probably going to need to be shortened.

Then when you get that done you need to transplant most of the electronics from the Superduty into your truck. The computer in your truck won't run a TorqShift. The wiring for the new computer is so different that you need to replace it. It's going to be a HUGE job to get this to work.

You would need to be good friends with a powertrain engineer at ford to make the electronics work.

This was brought up before too. So search n00b!

The massive transmission isn't going to make these trucks any faster. I always questioned why the 4r70w wasn't built stronger and installed into the lightnings. For towing and general work the 5r110 would be a nice mod,but for speed and racing the 4r70w is a better choice.

Aode gearset and a set of 2.73's should accomplish that and a good sct tuner can make it all work.
