tube & fin OR plate style cooler

hey all I am putting together an external filter and stand-alone(not going through the radiator) trans cooler and a t-stat for my E4OD that I use to drag race in my 95 Lightning. I am considering using the Permacool MAXIcool junior tube and fin with a built in fan. but I see some others out there that are "plate" design. so which is the better choice? I already have the synthetic fluid and trans temp and line pressure gauge, and deep aluminum pan installed. so this is my last piece I need to prolong the life of my trans. please let me know your thoughts. I really appreciate your help.
Edward

The stacked plate design is far more efficient. I'd go with it if you can.
