Factory Tech 4R70W valve body

Good afternoon,
I purchased a Factory Tech valve body from Troyer Performance on Friday but was informed today (Tuesday) that they no longer carry that item.
So I have a couple questions.
1) What difference is there between the separator and the valve body and what are the advantages/disadvantages of each?

2) If I still wanted to go with the valve body, where can I get it (alanat factorytechdot net?)

The reason I'm going for the valve body is because after buying the truck, I noticed that at 18-19 miles an hour and applying throttle, it seems the transmission searches for second then with a moderate clunk, it finds the gear. Really annoying... someone at some point suggested that I could have an accumulator spring that's broken and I've not looked into it. I definitely want firmer shifts and the trans "searching" between 1st and 2nd to be gone.

Your information will help.
Thanks,
Tom

The plate kit is very similar to the valvebody just cheaper with about 10 extra minutes of labor involved. Valvebodies are still being offered for pre96 transmissions as far as I know. The accumulator spring you need is included in the plate kit as well.
