Transmission swap

I own a 2001 Ford F 150 4x4 with the R4 70W transmission.my question is this will a transmission from a 1998Ford F150 4x4 with the same transmission work in my 2001.I forgot to mention they both have the 5.4 L

If the 1998 transmission is an E4OD, no. If it's a 4R70W, yes, but the harness may need to be repinned. Most 98's with the 5.4 had the E4OD.
