1st Tranny change

IM changin my tranny fluid for the first time, no drain plug, do i just take the pan off and let it drain, replace filter and fill back up? also i only bought 6 quarts by reccommendation of my local dealer wht else do i need to know? thanks

For a filter replacement and fluid freshening that's all you need. You will only be able to 4 maybe 5 quarts back in the system. If the truck has low miles and the fluid is good this is sufficent to keep transmission in good working order. You may want to invest $5-10 in a hand pump to empty the pan before dropping it that way you won't get an ATF shower. Clean the pan and don't overtighten it when reinstalling. Good luck.

change the pan gasket and stay away from silicone sealants
