clutch kit help

Hey guys i just got a new clutch kit put in my 94 ford f150 and i have a bit of play in the clutch pedal. It grabs good right when you disingage from the floor but tends to shift abit hard. when i grab the pedal with my hand i can place it down 2 inches and it will stay there' like it feels abit loose. I have to pull it up inorder to be level with the brake . should the clutch be level with the brake? and should there be abit of play from the top of the clutch' or will i have to break it in first inorder for it to be level? also there be a difference in a 5.0 vs 4.9 ltr clutch kit i called a few places and they said nope. Have you pumped the clutch pedal a billion times so that it adjusts and all that good stuff?

Pumping a billion times won't help unless your bleeding out any trapped air similar to the process for brakes. Did you bleed the air?
