grinding into 3&4

I just got a 95 F150, and put in a new clutch before putting it on the road. When I go to shift into 3rd. or 4th. theres a slight grinding noise, sometimes I have to even skip 3rd. because it wont go in even if I double clutch. It doesnt grind bad, just enough to piss me off. Any thoughts?

my 94 has the same problem
does it like chirp at you when when you change gears?
i'd say your problem is the syncronizers in the transmission. the only to fix is to replace and you will need new gears in the ones that are grinding because they're wearing down

Sounds like syncro time. A fresh fluid change might help if you didn't do it with the clutch job.

Also if you do not have any leaks in your tranny you could put fully synthetic fluid in it, that will help it slide into those gears a little better, and dont worry hopefully you'll learn to shift just at the right times and you wont grind at all

Correct. It is what I use in our M5OD's, but they are running perfect. Using the full synth ATF might help your grindin a little better. Only need four quarts.
