Angry Nuetral Safety Switch

I just bought a 89' Bronco and I need to replace the Nuetral Safety switch. It won't go into reverse with th engine running. Does not having this swithc effect the way the rest of the gears switch. One day they move smoothly the next I pretty much have to physically force them.

the neutral safety switch is basically there to make sure you can only start the vehicle in park or neutral, and to turn on the reverse lights. i dont know if it could interfere with normal driving. have you replaced it already? what makes you think it needs replacing?
