Angry Something went wrong again!!!!

Well maybe possibly you read my first post, i had the truck 3 days and what i think and am still pretty sure the automatic tranny went out on it. I mean as soon as it heated up it would almost like slip out of gear and grind the crap out of it's self. I would also lose all gears. So i went and replaced the tranny. Well i had it back 6 days yesterday i thought everything was fine.....same **** again. It got warmed up it grinded and it lost all park, drive, neutral etc..... This morning i got up and started it up and it goes into gear fine. So same problems as before i replaced the tranny again. Now i'm wondering if when the old one went it damaged soemthing else. I have absolutely no idea what is going on, unfortunatly due to these problems i am forced to sell the truck but i would just like to know what is wrong.

BTW it is a 85' f150...I plan on getting another ford 4x4 sometime in the near future it's the 300 ci straight 6.

I say it could be transfercase or the torque converter and maybe possable the flywheel its self causing your problems.

Yea it wasn't in 4x4 at all during the time of the problem however i'm not sure b/c it still must run through the transfer case. I dont know if it would have messed anything up or not it definetly grinds extremly bad. I got a torque converter w/ the new tranny so i'm not sure it would be that it's possible it's faulty. It is really extremely loud when it grinds and we put it in 4x4 i beleive during the grinding and it made a little bit of a different noise...did'nt keep it in long enough to find out though.

Transfer case sounds like your culprit. Try turning the driveshafts in park by hand. And when it grinds, put it on a lift and listen from underneath
