1998 Navigator Puzzle!!!!! Help!

Ok, guys here's my situation. I own a 98 Navigator and I have been having trouble with the 4 wheel drive. The truck goes into 4 Low, but won't go into AWD or 4H. The lights on the dash light up, but it doesn't engage. We changed the transfer case motor, checked the vaccum, and ran it on a diagnostic computer. The computer came back with the code: "P-1867 T-Case contact plate ckt fault". Does any one know the solution to this puzzle????

I would suspect the motor/sensor deal on the transfer case.

The transfer case has a shift motor on it. While I am not really familiar with the particular application some have the sensors to detect what range it is in built into that thing. Either that or the sensors are mounted elsewhere on the case.

thanks alan,

considering we changed the transfer case motor, I don't thing the problem is there. I am going to check if the sensor is elsewhere.

Any other ideas people??????
