Question BG transmission flush service fluid question

I was at by buddies shop today talikng to him about flushing the trans in my truck. It has 43,000 miles and I think it is ready. He said all he does is the BG transmission service and it uses one type of fluid for all cars. My trans is the Ford 4r70w. Does this sound right and a good idea??

The BG flush machine will use any type fluid you put in it, and that should be only Mercon V for your 4R70W transmission.

Flushing does nothing for the filter; before it's all overwith, make sure the filter is changed.

I had the BG Transmission flush done in my truck not too long ago, at about 73k miles. So far everthing is going good, knock on wood. I read somewhere once that really transmission filters don't get all that dirty, but that maybe wrong.
