Clutch

I'm drawing ever closer to having to change my entire cluth assembly due to a ****ed up throwout bearing... I was wondering,

1. What else I should change while trannys off and what all i'll need?
2. Does a regular clutch kit from autozone include everything?
3. Do I need/have a pilot bearing is that supplied in clutch kit?
4. If I get my flywheel resurfaced will this shorten it's life?
5. Truck has 150,000 miles, should I change my slave cylinder, will I be able to tell if damage has been done to it or be able to test it?
6. Can I use ATF Fluid in it or just a heavy wt. gear oil?
7. Do I need a special tool to change the rear main seal, is it complicated?
8. Holy ****, was this long or what, my apologies, I'm not to experienced with trannys, especially my own.

Thanks in advance for any possible help.

Howdy, did the exact same truck (300six) myself when I was a freshman in highschool. And once again on my 92 bronco. I have used centerforce clutches and they had everything I needed. You should be able to get 2-3 machinings out of a flywheel and still be in spec. I did the slave cylinder on the bronco, and would recomend it's replacement as a "might as well". I like Mercon ATF in the mazda 5. I never changed a rear main seal, sorry...

Not too bad of a job on the older trucks (dreading the clutch replacement on the 97) and it being a 4x2 makes it even simpler. Get a Haynes manual and just follow along.

The rear main is a notorious PIA in those trucks but you may luck out that you have a 2wd. On a 4wd it is next too impossible to get the oil pan off and back on without pulling the engine. That being said yes I am 99% sure the oil pan has to come off to change it but I don't think it is that big a deal especially since you have the tranny out of the way.
