Transmission Or Rear End Problem?

From a start when i accelerate there is a mild and quick hesitation followed by a slight jerk as if it catchs. Now it has to be a fairly fast take off for me to feel this. If i press slowly on the gas it won't make the slight catch or jerk (or if i am starting from a downward slope it won't jerk either). i bought this truck 2years ago w/ 50,000 miles on it. in the last two years i have put a relatively easy 15,000 miles on it. the dealer stated after the fact that they had to rebuild the rear diff. so i am kind of wondering if it is a rear end problem. but wanted to run it by you guys to see if anyone may think it could be a tranny problem. thanks for in responses in advanced.........

rear end

my dad's truck does the exact same thing, and mine is even so bad to "whine" while driving down the road at low rpm's. His truck just makes a slight noise and "jerks" once you take off, other than that there's nothing wrong with it. On his, we just left it alone and its been driving fine for almost 3 years. Mine however, we replaced the bearings, which were shot, but the problem has come back. I'm just going to buy another rear end from a salvage yard. They put a small warranty on their parts and it costs around 350.
