Tru-Cool TransmissionCooler Install

Hello all! I am going to be installing a Tru-Cool, LPD 4589 transmission cooler to replace my stock (not radiator) cooler. I have the factory tow package.

After doing the research on this forum, the advice is to double clamp all connections. Here is my problem. I was reading the instructions that came with the Tru-Cool cooler (yes - sometimes I read the instructions ) - the instructions have a warning that states, "DO NOT DOUBLE HOSE CLAMP ANY CONNECTION POINT."

Why does Tru-Cool say not to double clamp? Any opinions? All help IS appreciated!! Thank you.

Jeff

Sorry for the double post - but I just recieved a reply to the email I sent Tru-Cool. This is the answer I recieved:

" These warnings come from both the Hose Manufacture and the Cooler mfg.
Double clamping can cause bubbles / squeezed - pinch points inside of
the hoses, which can lead to premature hose failure."

So I guess I answered my own question. Hope this helps others on this forum.

yep and alot pf people think double clamps will make up for a unflared line. They will not always make sure the lines are flared where you put the hose on them.

Thanks for the advice Alan - I plan on flaring the lines and using single hose clamps.
