Exclamation My father-in-law needs your help!!!

Hi, I'm new to this site so please bare with me. My father in law has a 1995 f150 with a 5.8 liter 4 speed overdrive electronic tranny. He drives it about 10 miles everyday. About 6 months ago he drove it about 50 miles and yesterday he did about the same distance. For the last 6 months he has still been driving it about 10 miles per day. But the 2 times he drove it 50 or so miles (6 months apart) it started pumping out tranny fluid badly, as if he had busted a line. The fluid is gushing out of the front of the bell housing by the flywheel cover. he shuts it off and it still leaks out pretty good for about 10 minutes. Each time he had to put 6 quarts of fluid back it. But it has only happened when around 50 miles or so. The transmission was rebuilt about 3 years ago. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks for your help,

Sounds like the front pump seal blew out. Removal of the transmission is required to fix it; I'd recommend replacing the converter hub bushing at the same time and inspecting the converter hub itself for any burrs or imperfections that may have compromised the seal.
