New to this Trans slip... any suggestions?

I have a '99 Expedition Eddie bauer 4X4 with the 5.4L and towing package. This truck now has 115K miles on it, and the trans feels like it is begining to slip. It shudders when I accelerate from a stop... mainly in first gear, and then a bit in second gear. When decelerating, it seems like I can feel the gears down shifting... or maybe I am just sensitive to it now. The trans fluid is still pink and at a good level. I have no idea when it was last changed as I bought it with 91K on it. I do not suispect an engine problem as no check engine light is being thrown. What steps should I take to solve this problem?
I saw some do a fluid/filter change and add an additive of some sort... what would I add? What fluid and filter should I buy? I do not have an owners manual, so that is why I ask.
Thanks for any help at all!

If its still red and doen't smell burnt get a flush done by a shop. I use the Amsoil ATF in mine. Its a bit expensive but I have not had any issues with my tranny since it was replaced under warranty @12000miles. I now have 190,000 miles on the truck. For the filter get the factory one its only $14.00 Also I am not an Amsoil dealer, I only use the stuff.

If you have a 4r70w use the recommended fluid which is mercon V. If it shudders when coming from a stop you have a problem in the forward clutch most likely. No fluid change will help that I'd guess the cast iron rings and or stator support are worn and fluid is leaking past them.
