help replacing speedo gear inside transfercase

im trying to replace the big round gear inside the transfer but i dont know anything about this part of my truck and i was hoping someone could ATLEAST point me in the right direction other than take it to the shop, since i refuse to spend money on them replacing a $20 part. please help me

DOES your t/case have a bolt on extention housing
if so it's reletivly simple
remove drive shaft remove ext housing replace gear
if not it's a little more intense remove t/case disasemble case halves

replace gear

figured it out, had to snip a wire and put a spade connector on it.
there was a ball rolling around in my ext housing. then i had to figure out the clip
