Hi,
I have a 1997 F150 4.6 V8 4x4 Supercab. If it's cold outside, when I very first take off my truck will shift fine, but it seems as if the torque converter won't kick in because my rpms are running around 400-500 high. Once the tranny warms up, it will kick in and the rpms will be back to normal. The colder the morning, the longer it takes for it to kick in. Warming the truck up doesn't help, as I assume the fluid is not warming up, only the motor. Is this normal or is there a problem? The truck has 91xxx miles. The fluid isn't low. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Kurt
