Differences in a 1997 4.6 tranny and a 2000 5.4 tranny?

I know that my tranny is a 4r70w (2000 f150 5.4 auto) or something like that. I was wondering what the differences are from my tranny to a 1997 f150 auto? I found a deal on line for one and all I can tell is that the pics of the '97 tranny look a lot like my 2000 tranny. Any one know if this will or will not swap right out with mine? Mine has bad reverse clutches in it so its gotta go!

Thanks,
Chad

As far as I know They will both work. You may need to change your lockup solenoid. The 97 has a spring and roller one way clutch. The 5.4 should have better planetary gears and a mechanical diode.
Let me know what you do I would be interested in purchasing your core or those parts from it.
