cottman says bad reverse clutches???

2000 F150 5.4 auto 4X4 126K miles, wicked bad shutter in reverse only. In forward it pulls great. Light throttle in reverse is OK too, just if you hit the gas in reverse it shutters like mad.

Took it to Cottman for the fluid change shutter cure and they called today to tell me that fluid change is a bad thing because the reverse clutches are bad and changing the fluid might make it worse. What do you guys think? Think they are trying to sell me a tranny rebuild or what? Any one have any other thoughts or anything? Or know of any good places for CHEAP used or rebuilt trannies? It is the 4r70w by the way. Thanks for the great advice you guys have given me in the past and thanks in advance for this advise.
