Help, Throwing Codes: Torque Converter related?

My bone stock F-250 is throwing codes P0743 (TCC Solenoid/Trans. Relay Circuits or Torque Converter Clutch System Electrical failure) and P1744 (Torque Converter Clutch System Stuck in Off Position). What can cause this? Can I fix this on my own or should I take it to a tranny shop?

sounds like the lockup solenoid is bad or there is a wiring problem

i suggest you drop the pan on the trans and see what it looks like

usually when lockup solenoids go bad it is because the fluid is contaminated

Would a fluid change fix the problem?

Tranny codes p1744 p0743

I'm having the same trouble with my 2001 expy 4x4. Torgue converter clutch system stuck and torque converter clutch system failuer. HAD TRANSMISSION OIL CHANGED BUT i DON'T THINK THAT WAS IT. Thinking my wife drove it in OD all the time with a drive ratio of 3:23 in the rear. To much for the trans and with 54,000 I think thats just crappy trans. tell me what you found out.

Thanks
