4R70W Problem - wheels turn in park?

Hey all -

I've got an issue here. While the vehicle is not an F-series, I'm impressed with the knowledge on this board so I'm asking for help.

Car: 1962 Ford Galaxie
Engine: Motorsport Crate 351 W, EFI, EEC-IV ECM
Trans: 4R70W / Baumannator TCS controller, 5.0 pattern, '98 Explorer, Reman. Stock valvebody and converter.
Shifter: Factory V8 Mustang AODE/4R70W, Factory Cable & Brackets

Problem: After logging 1000 miles on the trans, something locked at a stoplight. I thought the differential let go, as the car tried to pull itself forward but could not. Not in any gear. You could not even roll the car forward in Neutral, running or not.

Reverse DID work, however, and you could push the car backwards in R, N, or any of forward gears with the car not running.

Flatbed car home, let sit for a week. Car literally had to slide off the flatbed as the rear wheels would not turn forward. Last night. with rear up on jackstands and wheels off the ground, I was able to hand-turn the driveshaft both directions with shifter in N. Hmm. Start car on jackstands, checking transmission state with laptop and Baumannator TCS box. With transmission range selector in P, the car showed 1st gear (as it should), but the rear wheels began to turn forward. The speedo climbed to 8 or 9 and it shifted into 2nd. All while selector was in P. Same behavior if selector in N. I didn't try reverse. Noticed clicking sound while driveshaft spun.

Did I lose a parking pin or something? ANY Help is appreciated, I'm in a quandry.

Thanks,

Kevin

The intermediate mechanical diode might have failed, locking up 2-3 and frying the frictions, steels, and band. Anything floating around in the pan? I've seen this happen a lot on E4ODs and a handful of 4R70Ws, locks the trans up solid to where we gotta drag the car in by force.
