Tranny cooler

Is there any benifit to getting a trans mission cooler for a '99 4.2 with a manual? I tow periodically, but that is rare.

There would only be a benifit if you also added a pump to move the fluid through the cooler. That transmission does not have a pump.

How hot is your transmission getting that you need a cooler?

if you tow enough weight to need a cooler for a manual trans, you would break it long before it becomes damaged from overheating
