Hey guys...I just got a 99 F150 4.6 5spd last week. Its got 52K on it and is in pretty much great condition. One thing though...the clutch pedal is almost all the way out before the clutch actually engages. It doesnt feel like its slipping or anything, so I dont think its bad...I know these are hydraulic systems so there probably is no adjustment right?
You should not have to press your clutch pedal down more than 1/3 of the way for it to be completely disengaged. More than that and your clutch is starting to wear out or there is air or moisture trapped in the system. Start by bleeding the system and see if it moves the pedal up.

I dont typically push my clutch to the floor unless I'm starting the engine (no choice) or if I'm experiencing the problem of it not going into any gear at all. This happens more often than not. Am I at risk of shortening the life of the clutch by not going to the floor all the time???
It will not hurt the clutch unless you do not push it to or past the full disengage point. It is just easier on the leg if you push the clutch pedal all the way to the floor.
you can't push it too far, unless you press it so hard you break the pedal.so i always push it to the floor just to make sure its completely disengaged.you're not gonna damage the clutch by not disengaging it all the way but you will tear up the tranny by doin that
