mercon v in e4od??

I need to change fluid in trans. Keep hearing that i should switch to the mercon v instead of regular mercon. Has anyone here done this? Any problems? Is all mercon v the same or are some brands better than others? Mobil 1? Thanks. Its in a 94 150 with 60k.Just got the truck and not sure of the maint. it received. Trans. does have remanufactured sticker on the side with some bar codes. Would this be a ford reman. ? Noticed a cork gasket hanging out around the pan edges.

Ford says to not use MERCON V in an E4OD.

I use Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. It has a MERCON rating, and not a MERCON V rating.

Ford has a TSB that lists what fluids are used in what transmission. That TSB says to only use MERCON in the E4OD. I think the TSB number is 01-15-7.

It's in your owners manual if you have a truck that was built after MERCON V was first sold, it's very bad for the E4OD/4R100.
