Angry Slave Cylinder not covered by warranty!!!

WTF??? I bought a Ford ESP Basic Care 7/75,000 because of all my 5-speed problems that the dealers won't fix. Well, the slave cylinder gave out yesterday and my ESP which states: Transmission: All internal parts covered DOES NOT COVER!!! So now I'm out $900 and I still have to live with the g'damned bucking and grinding. Thanks a lot Ford...screwed another one.

I am going to get reimbursed on the remainder of my worthless $700 ESP once I can find a damned car to borrow.

I think the slave cylinder would be considered a "consumable" like break parts. It really sucks though.

The dealer got $900 for the slave cylinder? The part is less than $100. I recently had an independant garage install a Centerforce clutch for me. I had him replace the slave cylinder while he was in there. I paid less than $350 for the whole deal. I supplied the parts.

Thanks for the encouraging post. I pulled the truck from the dealer and down to a local tranny shop. $325 labor and I got the Ford parts myself for $60. Just wondering now if I shouldn't have done the master too. Waiting to hear how to clutches look to see if I will be replacing those too. My dealer's parts dept. says they order up these heavy duty clutches for the 5.0's for like $135 for a whole kit, and they make one for the M5OD I guess.

On a good note, I cancelled my ESP. Going to put the Superchips sticker on, and get the pre-cats cut out.

Truck is MUCH smoother now!!! The clutch pedal has NEVER been this smooth / easy to operate. Always had quite a bit more resistance to it. I also have gotten RID of the damned 2-3 grind, however it has done it once from 1-2, though it was a little different. It was like it didn't want to go into 2nd. at all...it grinded and grinded until I stopped trying to drop it into 2nd. for a few secs. and then tried again. Hopefully the new slave cylinder is an "upgraded" part. I am still PISSED at Ford for screwing me over on my ESP. I have yet to even receive a call about my official complaint.
