My 84 f150 is screaming at me

OK took my brother in laws 84 f150 and decided to rebuild it:
Its been sitting for approx. 1.5 years. I changed the oil/steering/transmission fluid and took it out on the roads around the neighborhood...

Got some white smoke that is just crazy for a while but after a while it goes away until i start it again....

Then i took it out on the real road and realized it isnt shifting into the next gear... I couldnt get off the road and i it was whining so bad i thought it was going to explode ...

is it saveable?
