Unhappy Experinced Tech's Help needed

Do any of the guru's out there know if a ~1996 Mustang GT auto tranny will work with my 86 F-150 EFI? The tranny in my truck is running real bad. It goes gear hunting now when it shifts, and I'm afraid its going to die on me on a busy street. The reason I am considering a GT tranny is because I may one day replace the 302 with my 281 out of my 96 mustang. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Daniel

There are two problems that I can think of. First, the transmission in the Mustang mates to a 4.6L, which is a different bolt pattern than the 302 in the truck. Second, the transmission in the Mustang is computer controlled, the transmission in the truck is not.

You would need to build an adapter and somehow make a computer setup to run the transmission. It does not look practicle to me.
