I've heard Haynes has a 4R70W rebuild manual. Not sure if it's an good though. My Chilton's manual (92' VW GTI) is a POS. Lacking in every how-to with details. I hate it. Never buy a Chiltons manual!

You can get the OEM manuals from Helm Inc. The service manual for my 1998 F-150 was about $200 and consisted of two telephone book size manuals.
